How to Find New Music Beyond the Same Songs
By THE WAVE ·
Find new music through genre browsing, artist catalogs, listener recommendations and live listening rooms, with a practical route through THE WAVE.
To find new music, start with a sound you already enjoy, try an unfamiliar artist, and use one song as a route into their catalog. Mix personal recommendations with deliberate browsing so your listening does not depend on the same familiar tracks.
Start with a genre, not a popularity chart
Open Explore on THE WAVE and choose a genre you enjoy. Listen to a song you have not heard before. If the first choice does not fit, try another artist rather than deciding the entire genre is wrong for you.
THE WAVE uses listening activity to shape recommendations and gives priority to unheard songs and newer releases within preferred genres. Recommendations are not a promise that every song will be new to you: available music and your listening history both matter.
Follow one good song into a catalog
Select a song title to open its song page, then select the credited profile name to explore that profile's music. Check the attribution: a catalog profile may belong to a curator, and a song title naming a performer does not establish that the performer runs that profile.
Use song search when you know a title or profile name. The song-search guide explains how to distinguish a song listing from an artist account.
Add human recommendations
Browse the Feed for shared songs and visit Waves to see available listening rooms. A recommendation from another listener can introduce something your usual listening pattern misses. Room availability changes; check the room page rather than assuming an event is live.
Outside THE WAVE, community discussions such as Reddit's music community and discovery tools such as Gnoosic offer other ways to investigate sounds. These are independent resources, not partners or endorsements of THE WAVE.
Keep a short discovery list
Save a few discoveries to a playlist instead of collecting every recommendation. Saving requires a member account. Revisit the list after a few days: songs that still hold your attention are useful clues for the next discovery session.
Can I listen before collecting a Drop?
Released songs on THE WAVE offer sponsor-supported full-song listening. Buying a collectible Drop is a separate, optional choice. Listening limits and sponsor messages still apply; this is not a claim of unlimited ad-free playback. Read the free music streaming details, then start exploring.
